No more blues by looking at my angels of my eye. :) I love them loads! My power of everything. I can no longer hang on to whatever it's. I need to let go and move on.
But right now, I am waiting for the right time. No one is irreplacable. No one. I need a real god-darn life. :(
I think the video above reminds me of the scene in Madagascar where everyone just sing, "I want to move it move it~"
“Very often when we are choosing from so many different degree options in a university, we all hope that we can take up more than one option. If you have this opportunity to choose between the lists of double major degree programmes that Kaplan offers, how best would you use this skill to advance your life's goals?”
FRET NOT!
I understand how many might have felt when one had reach the crossroads for higher education, be it to fulfill the minimum education requirements needed or to upgrade oneself. Because I went through the same issue before.
Many of us here would wonder, how to pick the right education providers and there would be tons of questions for us to ponder over sleep.
Well, let me share with you my concerns:
1. Recognition of the Certificate
Heard the woo-haa over certain schools that provided unaccredited programme thus the recognition of the certificate and etc is important. Who would want to spend 2 years studying for something which at the end, it's not recognized by anyone?
2. Recognition & Reputation of the Education Provider
It important because you will hand over your finance for the payment of the education to the school. If the school had screwed-up administrative flow, no point in investing something when you will come to a scenario where the school will "run away" with the money when problem arises. Reputable school will put your heart at ease. And somehow or rather, searching through forums will take you through the quality of the lecturers. This is equally important and will affect the school reputation at the end. Furthermore, one must understand that at the end of the day, it's the lecturers who are based on-campus at the relevant school university compound (at their home ground) who will be assessing the assignments and papers.
3. Location of Campus
Tell me about it. The location is important because you would want to take 3 feeder bus service just to reach a campus or it's located at a place where no one knows where. The best location is whereby people from the North, South, East part of Singapore can have access to and the traveling time would be the same. Oh well, the Central area is so well-equipped and it would be ideal for Adults/ Learners who are holding onto a full time job to access to. I doubt one would want to travel somewhere far from workplace to school. The traveling time can be put to a better use.
4. Time-Frame to Complete
Some courses will take tons of years to complete, whereby some are compressed to suits learner's needs as time waits for no one. Reasonable timing would be at least minimum a year if not, Employers were to bound to question you and your education. No doubt it can be fast track but not too fast track that it can't be tracked! :)
5. Costs
Yes, money can buy you education. But importantly, before the money issue is in, one needs to have a course in mind that fulfill the above 4 as it needs to be measured concurrently. Agaim, would one will doubt if a 2-years degree programmes that cost you only $12k? This is indeed questionable. And of course, you would want to pay for 50k programme that you can use this amount to study on-campus right?
6. Numbers of Programme Offered Under The Same University
I used to have friends who take up courses within private education providers and in the end, she realised that she doesn't like what she's studying and best part, she could only re-elect her concentration under the same university with the same school which only had a few pathetic choices. In the end, she went to pursue her further education at another school that provide more choices under the same university she's studying.
Well well, actually the above 6 are my own criteria in settling down to a decision on a private education providers. There are hundreds of private school educators around and it's hard to settle down on one when there's so many choices but from my own experience, it's good to go down to take a look at the campus, check out on forums before deciding on one as I had bad experience with one...
I used to take up a degree programme at this private school located in Bugis and the administrator there sucks like XXXX as I didn't get my study materials after a month when I started school. Imagine a month without any textbooks/ notes and just plain paper and I had to scribble like mad as the lecturers speak. Well, I gave up after 2 semester and went to transfer myself to Kaplan Singapore as my degree was offered under Murdoch University.
Firstly, a background on Kaplan Singapore:
Kaplan emerged from humble beginnings some 70 years ago when founder Stanley Kaplan started offering “tuition” classes in his Brooklyn basement in 1938. It has since become a leading international provider of educational and career services for individuals, schools and businesses, catering to more than 1 million students from more than 500 locations around the world.
THEY HAD A FACEBOOK/ TWITTER ACCOUNT and their environment is so young, friendly and vibrant! :) Especially I like their library (Cuppage Campus) and the location of their campus is right smack in town, easily access by MRT(s) and the Wilkie Edge campus is so big that we had the entire floor to us. Never lack of classrooms! :) And the parking fee at both campus is considered reasonable compared to other carparks in Town.
And the programme they offered are like, a whole list, you can re-elect their concentration when you find that you had zero interest in the one that you are currently studying. Of course, you MIGHT need to take up some foundation modules lah. But it's only for rich people's play. Just to inform... Under Murdoch University, they offered DOUBLE MAJORs, meaning, you will have 2 concentrations and it will double up your chances when you look for a job next time.
And definitely, Murdoch University is recognized! Because I AM CURRENTLY EMPLOYED IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR!!!
What are you waiting for?
You might be the one next don in the graduation robe! ^^
(All the above pictures were taken in October 2010, where Sharanne is only 2 months old from birth)
Ohyes, Kaplan Singapore is so cool, I remember my Programme Consultant and Co-ordinator is making sure that I am perfectly ok as I was pregnant with Sharanne during my last 2 semesters of studies! :) They are so accomodating that they mentioned that it's only if I deferred or appeal for my examination as I am only a week from due, delivery of the baby. :)
Now you can advance your life goals with Murdoch’s Double Major Degree and Masters programmes offered at Kaplan Higher Education on a full time and part time basis.
After several thoughts I had decided to go ahead with:
1. Having back my long hair again.
2. To quit my job when time is right.
3. Work harder for my children...
Ok, I guess the list that runs on seems quite familiar to many as these are what I want and had been doing so far... I realised the fact that I could no longer depend on anyone except myself. Whatever had lost, take it as a setback and lessons learnt. As long when the gold prices are up, it would meant a stable income.
All I need is time. Time to go, time to heal, time to succeed. People can build on their wealth by using a dollar and sense (not cents, pun intended!).
Another thing would be, I need back my skincare routine. No time is an excuse where beauty doesn't smack right on lazy bones. Gonna get my ass to that pole soon after birth.
I need back all my healthy lifestyle.
In short, my work had taken a toll on me. Everything about me.
Went through so much and I succumb back to the same spot again. The feeling of anxiety and everything brings me down to the same old pit. Well, we need to move on with life. So let's embrace in this month of LOVE.
Nothing much except that I need a break real soon and the below TWO(s) are my strength and power. ^^
